We hope you are all adjusting well to these ever-changing and uncertain times.  COVID-19 has upended how all of us operate on a day to day basis and changed our day-to-day face-to-face interaction with our students to a virtual experience.

We know how difficult it may be to navigate your role as a counselor as well as your role at home.  With those roles combining, it adds an extra challenge to our daily lives. Please make sure you are finding time to take care of yourself.

Now more than ever we need to share our resources and best practices in the unprecedented situation we find ourselves in.  We encourage you to use our Facebook page as an avenue to share ideas of what is working for you and any best practices as Remote School Counselors.  We also encourage you to post words of inspiration and support to each other.

The remaining two meetings have been canceled.  This includes the meeting scheduled for May 6th with Roger Williams and the awards dinner hosted by Universal Technical Institute.  With so many uncertainties, we feel it is best to take one thing out of the equation for everyone.

While we know celebrating and honoring everyone at the awards dinner is one of the highlights. The executive board feels that every single counselor in the county deserves to be recognized for all that YOU  have done to support both the students and parents as well as the staff in their districts during COVID-19.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!!

We still plan on recognizing our retirees! Please let us know if you plan on retiring in June!

Most of all ~ Please remember through all of this to take time for yourself.  As hard as it may be to find that time, even if it is five minutes, try to make time for yourself each day.  You deserve it! You are worth it! And you need it!
